Ayu OIAM - Hanya Di Mercu
Mimpi dan harapan
Cecita yang tinggi menjulang
Tak pernah terluahkan
Hanyalah di hati tersimpan… terpendam
Keterbatasan diriku menjadi penghalang
Chorus:
Sampai bila aku bertanya sampai bila
Ku harus mencoba
Bila lagi desak hatiku bila lagi
Aku harus berani
Lalu ku bangkit tegak berdiri
Mengatur langkah ku terus mendaki
Cita-citaku… Di Mercu
Mimpi dan harapan
Bagaikan duri yang mencengkam… ohh … hoh..
Seandainya ku biar cecita di hati tersimpan… terpendam
Keterbatasan tak wajar menjadi penghalang
Chorus:
Sampai bila aku bertanya sampai bila
Ku harus mencoba
Bila lagi desak hatiku bila lagi
Aku harus berani
Lalu ku bangkit tegak berdiri
Mengatur langkah ku terus mendaki
Cita-citaku… Di Mercu
Bridge:
Aku mencari kekuatan
Dalam kelemahan
Aku temui kejayaan
Dalam keberanian
Chorus:
Sampai bila aku bertanya sampai bila
Ku harus mencoba
Bila lagi desak hatiku bila lagi
Aku harus berani
Lalu ku bangkit tegak berdiri
Mengatur langkah ku terus mendaki
Cita-citaku… Di Mercu
Ohh… oh…
Lalu ku bangkit tegak berdiri
Mengatur langkah ku terus mendaki
Cita-citaku… Di Mercu

December 25, 2007 During this Christmas season, may you be blessed…
With the spirit of the season, which is peace…
The gladness of the season, which is hope…
And the heart of the season, which is love.
Somehow, not only for Christmas but all the long year through.
The joy that you give to others is the joy that comes back to you.
And the more you spend in blessing the poor, and lonely and sad,
the more of your heart’s possessing returns to you glad.
~John Greenleaf Whittier

Look a little closer at the picture.
Can you see the what the Artist wants you to see?
November 30, 2007 Inner attitudes can destroy you.
A wise man keeps himself under control. Proverbs 29:11.
ANGER will destroy you before it destroys anyone else. Control your temper! Read Proverbs 14:17; 14:29; 15:18; 19:19; 22:24-25; 29:11,22..
PRIDE will lead to your downfall. Humility is far more rewarding. See Proverbs 3:34; 11:2; 13:10; 16:5,18,19; 18:12; 21:4.
JEALOUSY grows like a cancer. Read Proverbs 14:30; 23:17; 24:1; 27:4.
FEAR OF PEOPLE is unnecessary if you trust God. Se Proverbs 3:25-26; 29:25.
CONCEIT is ugly. A conceited person forgets God’s place in his or her life. Read Proverbs 16:2; 25:27; 26:12; 27:2; 28:11,13.

November 29, 2007 Family members should be allies, not adversaries.
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6.
“Spare the rod and spoil the child” may be the most famous of the Bible’s proverbs. Proverbs calls punishment a form of love and says that parents who will not discipline their children are in danger of ruining them (29:15). However, that much-quoted maxim is only a small part of what Proverbs has to offer on the subject of bringing up children.
The overwhelming emphasis of Proverbs is on verbal encouragement and teaching. The whole book is framed as a father’s words to his son, teaching him those “facts of life” that have nothing to do with biology. Repeatedly he pleads, “Listen, my son.” Mother has equally important words (1:8; 6:20). The parent-child conversation is a warm one, and Proverbs 17:6 bears out what the whole book implies: parents and children are not meant to be adversaries, but allies in life who are proud of each other.
Proverbs on parent-child relationships: 3:11-12; 10:1,5; 13:1,24; 14:26; 15:20; 17:6,21; 19:18,26-27; 20:20; 22:6,15; 23:13-16,22-25; 27:11; 29:15,17; 31:28.
Life Questions: What is more effective in rising children: punishment and discipline, or verbal instruction and encouragement?

November 28, 2007 Even truthful words can damage other people.
A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends. Proverbs 16:28.
What could be wrong with just talking, as long as you do not actually lie? Proverbs sees plenty of danger. Words are dynamite; they can destroy people. They should be carefully weighed before they are spoken. Even truthful words can damage. Yet they can also save a friend from going wrong. Proverbs speaks strongly about both the danger of gossip and the good done when someone justly rebukes his friend.
“The tongue has the power of life and death,” Proverbs 18:21 says, “and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs teaches the skill of speaking so as to give life.
Proverbs on the importance of words: 10:11,20; 12:14; 15:4; 17:10; 18:21; 25:11.
Proverbs on the wrong way to speak: 6:16-19; 11:9,12-13; 12:18; 13:3; 16:27-28; 18:8,13; 26:23-28; 29:5.
Proverbs on the right way to speak: 10:14,21,32; 12:25; 15:1,23,28; 16:13,23,24; 17:27,28; 25:12,15; 27:5,6; 28:23.
Proverbs on the dangers of words: 10:19; 14:23.

November 27, 2007 A good partner can make or break your life.
Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. Proverbs 21:9
In ancient times, women were often viewed as men’s property, good for bearing children and not much more. Proverbs, addressed to young men approaching the age of marriage, takes a different view. It holds up marriage as a crucial choice, to be made with great care.
A good wife (or husband, we can assume) will make or break her partner’s life. Her duties lay the foundation for her family’s welfare. She shares with her husband the most significant task of teaching their children the way of wisdom. Therefore, her character matters far more than her physical beauty.
Not that Proverbs ignores the physical side of love. It urges marriage partners to rejoice in their love, to be captivated by it. It warns young people against sexual sin precisely because this wastes sexuality on unsatisfying, unloving relationship. Sex ought to be saved for the long-lasting, productive joy of marriage.
Proverbs on Sexual Sin: 2:16-19; 5:1-23; 6:20-35; 7:6-27; 23:26-28.
Proverbs on Marriage: 5:15-19; 12:4; 14:1; 18:22; 19:13-14; 21:9-19; 27:15-16; 31:10-31.

November 26, 2007 A clear-eyed view of wealth and poverty.
The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor. Proverb 10:15.
“Poor people are lazy,” says one person. Someone else claims the opposite, “They are poor because the rich control the system.” People tend to oversimplify when they discuss wealth and poverty. Curiously, both sides may quote Proverbs to prove their point.
You have to read all of Proverbs to get its subtle view. It says people are poor for various reasons; because of laziness and drunkenness, but also because the rich oppress them. People get rich for various reasons too; because of hard work, because of the Lord’s blessing, because they cheated.
Proverbs gives an evenhanded view of what money does for people. Wealth brings benefits, including eager friends. Proverbs says, but it also brings worries and troubles. Proverbs strongly urges the rich and powerful to be generous and fair to poor people. It remains remarkably clear-eyed about the tangled causes of poverty and about the dangers and benefits of wealth.
Proverbs on Money: 10:4,15,22; 11:4,16,28; 13:8,18,22,23; 14:20,23,31; 15:16; 18:23; 19:1,4,17; 20:13; 21:5,17; 22:1,2,4,7,9,16,22,23; 23:5; 28:3,6,8,11,19,20,22,27; 29:7,14; 30:7-9.
